MJ Gomez-Saavedra is a computer scientist and creative technologist from San José, Costa Rica based in New York City.

From a very young age, MJ has been intrinsically drawn to the fields of art and technology. To her, art is the mirror image of human creativity, and technology is a means to transform people’s lives.

Born and raised in San José-Costa Rica, MJ is incredibly proud of her Latin heritage and is because of her heritage that she learned to work tenaciously and dream at a great scale—something that drives her daily to seek areas that inspire her heart and challenge her abilities.

  • June 2023 - November 2023

    • Co-designed and co-developed a VR brand book for a major U.S. airline using Unity and Blender.

    • Designed and developed a VR gallery space for a fintech company using Unity and Blender.

    • Co-created an AI-driven tool for name and mood board generation using React.js, Flask.js, OpenAI API and Stability API.

    • Collaborated on a soon to be released Lippincott website called ‘Play’ using React.js and Framer.js

  • October 2022 - January 2023

    • Designed and developed a multiplayer video game called “Bah-Bah-Grass” using p5.js and p5.party.

    • Implemented synchronous movement between the two players eliminating overwrites.

    • Developed an algorithm for seed spawning (based on the Manhattan Distance).

  • June 2021-July 2021, September 2022 - present

    • Designed and created a color-filtering feature that correctly identifies and matches the colors to their products using JavaScript.

    • Implemented SEO practices onto the Salon Septième website and increased their SEO score by 30%.
